When a sitter steps in, confusion about dose dates is the most common reason schedules slip. A simple kit and a clear note keep prevention on track.
Place product packs, a one-page schedule and a pen in a labelled box on the bench. Note your house dose day, pet names, current weights and next due date. Add your vet’s number and your mobile.
Brief in two minutes
Dog chews after a small meal
Cat spot-ons high on the neck and keep pets apart until dry
Tick check after bush or coastal walks: ear edges, under the collar, armpits, groin, between toes, tail base
Check the note for what was given and when. Shake and sun-dry travel blankets or crates used during visits. Keep your weekly vacuum and bedding wash going for the next month.
Dogs
Monthly all in one: Simparica Trio Chewable Tablet for Dogs
Monthly fleas and ticks: NexGard Chewables for Dogs
Longer acting fleas and ticks: Bravecto Chew for Dogs
Cats
Broad monthly spot on: Revolution Plus Spot-On for Cats
Longer acting fleas and ticks: Bravecto Spot-On for Cats
Simple monthly option: Revolution Topical Solution for Cats
Ask sitters to store packs cool and dry, note what was given, and never stack preventives unless your vet advises.
