Why storage and handling matter
Good storage keeps treatments effective and reduces accidents. A few simple habits protect your family and your pet.
Where to store
Keep products in their original boxes with leaflets.
Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and moisture.
Use a high cupboard or locked drawer out of reach of children and pets.
Do not leave products in hot cars or damp bathrooms.
Before every dose
Weigh your pet and select the correct weight band.
Read the label, even if you have used it before.
Check the expiry date and packaging seal.
Set a phone reminder for the next due date.
Handling spot-ons
Apply to clean, dry skin at the back of the head for cats, and between the shoulder blades for dogs unless the label says otherwise.
Wash hands after use. Consider disposable gloves if you have sensitive skin.
Keep children and other pets away from the site until dry.
Never use dog products on cats.
Do not bathe or swim your pet until the label’s wait time has passed.
Handling chews
Give with or soon after a meal to reduce tummy upset.
Watch for vomiting. Do not give a second full dose unless your vet advises it.
If your pet spits out part of a chew, contact your vet for guidance.
Missed or late doses
Give the dose as soon as you remember.
Reset your schedule from that date.
If you are unsure how to realign timing, ask your vet.
Travelling with treatments
Pack in the original box to protect dosing instructions.
Keep products cool and dry.
Plan dose days around swimming if you use a spot-on.
Disposal
Empty tubes and blisters go into the household rubbish unless your council says otherwise.
Do not pour liquids down sinks or storm drains.
Keep used packaging away from children and pets.

FAQ
Can I save half a tube for later
No. Spot-on tubes are single use. Use the full, correct tube for your pet’s weight.
Do I need gloves
Not required for most people, but they are a good idea if you have sensitive skin. Wash hands after dosing.
My product was left in a hot car. Is it still OK
Heat can affect products. Check the packaging. If in doubt, replace it and ask your vet for advice.
