Before you leave

Dose a few days before departure so protection is active on day one. Reweigh pets and confirm the correct weight band. Pack the next dose if it falls mid-trip.

Travel kit

• Tick tool or fine-tipped tweezers

• Wipes and a small towel

• Spare bed cover or sheet for pet-friendly stays

• Rubbish bags and a zip bag for vacuum canister contents if you empty one on the road

Car and stay hygiene

Shake and sun-dry car rugs after beach or bush stops. In motels or baches, cover soft beds your pet will use and air their own bedding in the sun each morning. Keep food sealed and bowls clean and dry.

Daily two-minute tick check

Lips and chin, ear edges, under the collar, armpits, groin, between toes and tail base. Rinse off sand or mud and towel dry to the skin so mats do not stay damp.
